Clutch repairsAitkenvale.
A clutch that slips on a climb, judders off the mark or has turned heavy underfoot is running out of road. We rebuild the whole assembly with quality parts, machine the flywheel when it calls for it, and quote the lot before we begin. The workshop is a short drive from Aitkenvale in Garbutt.
- 4WD and diesel
- Quality parts
- Quote before we start

Why it matters
A slipping clutchnever fixes itself.
All that stop-start through the Aitkenvale shopping precinct, the sets of lights along Ross River Road and the daily crawl into town are punishing on a clutch, and a worn one only travels one way. Dealing with it early keeps the job contained and keeps you from being stranded at a busy intersection.
Sort it before it strands you
Slipping and shuddering are your early notice. Book it in now and it stays a planned repair, not a car that will not move at the lights on a Monday morning.
Save the flywheel and gearbox
Leave a worn clutch too long and it scores the flywheel and leans on the gearbox, turning a clutch job into a much dearer one.
Clean shifts again
A fresh clutch brings back smooth take-offs and easy gear changes, so the car is a pleasure to drive through traffic instead of a chore.

Common questions
The questionswe hear most.
Still not sure? Give the workshop a call or send a message and we will sort it.
At our Garbutt workshop, roughly ten minutes from Aitkenvale up Bayswater Road. Most clutches are about a full day on the bench, so book it in, leave the car with us, and use the secure after-hours key drop if that suits your run. You will collect it with the take-up feeling sharp again.
The tell-tales are slipping, where the engine revs climb but the car will not gather speed, a pedal gone heavy or oddly soft, a shudder as you pull away, gears that fight you, or a burning smell after a stint in heavy Ross River Road traffic. Any one of those earns an inspection.
Commonly 100,000 to 150,000 km, but heavy loads and a steady diet of stop-start driving wind that back. Where and how you drive counts for a lot.
It depends on the vehicle and whether the flywheel needs machining once we are in there. You get an honest, firm quote up front, before any work starts.
Every week. The Hilux, Ranger, LandCruiser, Triton, D-Max and the heftier diesel setups are all part of it, fitted with quality parts matched to the load the vehicle actually carries.
It can, and that is the catch. A clutch left slipping scores the flywheel and puts strain on the gearbox, so a contained clutch job can grow into a far bigger bill. Sorting it early is always the cheaper road.
