Once your car has passed its logbook years, regular servicing is what keeps it honest. Why it matters

A small service nowbeats a big bill later.

So much Aitkenvale driving is short, busy runs: ducking to Stockland, the school drop-off, crawling through the lights along Ross River Road. That stop-start work loads up an engine quietly. Keeping the servicing current keeps an older car dependable through the wet-season heat and catches small faults before they grow.

Fires up and pulls strong

Clean oil, fresh filters and a properly checked engine mean the car cranks first turn and holds its power, even when the February humidity is doing its worst.

Faults caught while cheap

A full inspection picks up worn brakes, perished hoses and slow leaks while they cost very little, well before they leave you stuck in a Nathan Street car park.

Lighter on fuel, stronger at resale

An engine in good order drinks less and lasts longer, and a clean service record props up the price the day you trade the family car in.

What you get

What a fullservice covers.

The same careful job whether it is a small hatch, a loaded family wagon or a work ute, petrol or diesel, two-wheel or four-wheel drive.

Common questions

The questionswe hear most.

Still not sure? Give the workshop a call or send a message and we will sort it.

  • Of course. The Garbutt workshop and Aitkenvale share the 4814 postcode and sit about ten minutes apart, a quick run down Bayswater Road. Leave it as you pass through on Nathan Street, or use the after-hours key drop, and most general services are back in your hands by knock-off.

  • Every six months or 10,000 km is the rule of thumb, whichever you hit first. If the car carries a lot of years or kilometres, or it works hard as a 4WD, lean towards the more frequent side. Tell us what you drive and how, and we will pin down the right interval.

  • Not quite. A logbook service follows the manufacturer handbook to the letter so a new-car warranty stays protected. A general service is for cars past that point: a full inspection plus an oil, filter and fluid refresh, with no handbook to answer to. Tell us the age of the car and we will steer you to the right one.

  • Near enough all of them. Petrol and diesel, front or four-wheel drive, locally built or imported, from a little Corolla or i30 to the Hilux, Ranger and LandCruiser utes you see queued around Stockland of a Saturday.

  • It hinges on the car and what it genuinely needs once we are into it. We quote up front and add nothing without phoning you first. Send the rego through or ring 0457 816 890 for a figure.

  • Never. Anything we find while the car is on the hoist gets a phone call and a price before we touch it. What you agreed to is what you pay when you collect it.
